<br />
<span style="color: red;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I<i> was the victim of a scam artist on the telephone. I was lured into thinking there was a virus problem with my computer and after gaining access to my bank account I lost over £900.</i></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<i><span style="color: red;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Thankfully, most gratefully and forever in debt will I be to the bank we were refunded our money.</span></span></span></i><br />
<br />
<i><span style="color: red;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I will not go into all the details, mainly because I am so very, very embarrased about it all but suffice to say do not give anything of yourself away over the telephone, EVER! </span></span></span></i><br />
<br />
<i><span style="color: red;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">People will always ring back if they are legitimate or find another way to contact you. If you are even mildly suspicious of their intentions then hang up!</span></span></span></i><br />
<br />
<i><span style="color: red;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Never buy anything over the phone. </span></span></span></i><br />
<br />
<i><span style="color: red;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I would hate anybody to feel any way near the way I did for about 4 hours this afternoon; sick to the stomach thinking I had completely ruined Christmas.</span></span></span></i><br />
<br />

<br />
<span style="color: red;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I've just put two loaves in to bake and now I'm having lunch whilst listening to Jeremy Vine. (Eating an uber un-healthy Pot Noodle but what hurts now and then?) </span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: red;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Current subject is as the title of this post. I have, of course, heard of it before. I do feel very sorry for people suffering from this condition. My favourite times of the year are Autumn and November. I love the drawing in of the nights, comfort food, closing the curtains early and lighting the fire at about 3pm so all is cozy when my men come home; somebody on the radio described the dark days as mushroom sky. </span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: red;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I know the last couple of weeks here in Wales we have had rain and wind of biblical proportions, but I have to say that as long as we and the dog are indoors safe and we are not making unnecessary journeys then we are ok. </span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: red;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It really is some sort of mental health issue though as people report having suffered from depression before the SAD is diagnosed.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: red;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have always been quite a positive and up beat kind of person and not really susceptible to periods of darkness.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: red;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As I said, I have realy sympathy for those who find the darker months of the year a real chore to deal with.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: red;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Does anybody have trouble with this or know anybody?</span></span></i></span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: red;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I love love love decorating the kitchen, more than anywhere else in the house I think becasue I spend a lot of my day in here. Being lucky enough to have the fab table and benches Jon made, I sit and type my blog, eat my breakfast and lunch, write letters etc. Plus I have a good window out to the world even on a dull day.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: red;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Today I have been putting up more decorations and here are some of the ones in the kitchen. I have incorporated my love of French linen where I can because I really like the red with the off white and is perfect for the season.</span></span></i></span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Once all was unpacked and the boys had been fed I set to with the mincemeat. The boys helped a little which was great.</span></span></i></span><br />

<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The financial arrangements I spoke of regarding us completing on our situation here in Wales has moved on a step. Paperwork has been signed which will be with solicitors by Tuesday at the latest and this means there is a distinct possibility that our house will be our home by the end of next week.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Anybody who has been with me regarding all this mess and stress will know just how much this will mean to myself and my family. Suffice to say my new blog will be up and running when we have the news.</span></span></i></span><br />

<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hello</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have today discovered a fantastic blog called <a href="http://down---to---earth.blogspot.co.uk/">Down To Earth</a>. </span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I came across it and thought how wonderful it was to find somebody celebrating and enjoying a more simple life, homemaking etc and not being ashamed of it. I have commented on a couple of the posts and hope you will visit it some time as I feel sure you will find it inspirational and encouraging.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Yesterday I really got some use out of the Rayburn. I worked out the timings and managed to bake two loaves of bread, a proper baked rice pudding, baked potatoes and chicken kievs for the boys' and our tea. Really proud of myself because I wanted it all ready so the boys could have the bread warm when they came home and everything would be done for tea time.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">What do you reckon to my loaves? Yummy with just butter or for breakfast with baked beans was lovely, too.</span></span></i></span><br />

I'm going to be honest and say it was a super deal at less than £35.00 and I love it! I can't wait to get a drinks tray on it ready for the festivities and I'm already planning on moving the glasses from one of the kitchen cupboards into here. <br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">On Sunday </span>I got the Christmas cake baked. I use an American recipe I found on the internet where you boil most of the ingredients before adding the flour and eggs. Fool proof as far as I am concerned.<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> I'm really miffed beca<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">use I<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">'m not able to put phot<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">os</span> on my blog at the moment so apologies for the plain text until <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I</span> get it sorted.</span></span></span></span></span></i></span><br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> </span></span></i></span><br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">It is now sitting in a tin in my newly prepared Christmas cupboard until I feed it with some form of alcohol next week. I normally use Gluvhein, is that how you spell it, so hope Lidl have the equivalent to the bottle I used to buy from Aldi. My youngest said the cake mix smelt like mince pies so I siad they would be coming soon, too, but not just yet! </span></span></i></span><br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></i></span><span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I've also</span> tried my hand at baking Welsh cakes. The first batch have come out ok I think. My youngest just loves them and I normally cannot go into the shop at Bont without picking up a pack, hence giving them a go myself.</span></span></i></span><br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></i></span>
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Little heads up. If you have an Asda near by or you normally order on line they already have the fabulous Pierre Darcys bubbly on offer, £10 instead of £18 and this l<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">asts unitl the new year</span>. I bought a total of six bottles over the festivities last year and it is great to make sure you always have something decent in the fridge, good to take if you are popping to see somebody and just because, basically! I will be ordering my supplies when the Drambuie is on offer as that it my husband's tipple. Personally<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> </span>Christmas isn't Christmas without a proper Snowball made with Advocat, plus it is fab poured over your Christmas pud - that is in the cupboard already as one left over from last year.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">The reference to Cawl was that I thought I might make my soup into Cawl as I learned to make it at the cafe, but I think I will leave that to another day. </span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Hope ever<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">ybody is well. xxx</span> </span></span></i></span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I just thought I would update you a little on our situation.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We have not exchanged or completed on our house but we are in the process of getting to the point where the house will soon be ours at the beginning of December with any luck. We haven't had much of that recently but things are definitely on the up. Not to go into too much of the financial detail but we have made arrangements regarding our house we </span></span></i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">were</span></span><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> selling in order to release funds to buy our Welsh dream home. To be honest it doesn't matter how we get the house as long as we get it!</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It was five weeks on Friday that Jon started on the renovations in the house and he is just putting down the floor in the bathroom and then we are DONE! Apart from the cellar rooms but they will wait until Jon has gone back to work and be finished in the evenings and weekends but I don't expect that will take him long. During the past five weeks he has taken down, put in new joists, replasterd and painted four ceilings, re-configured our youngest's bedroom for more space, painted the TV room and bulit a stand for the TV, taken out a nasty wardrobe, re-plasterd one wall and painted our bedroom, painted our oldest's bedroom and built cupboards, plastered one wall and painted all of the bathroom.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I am so very proud of him because we have saved SOOO much money with him being able to do the work himself.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I don't feel I can share much more about our life at the moment because my aim was to start my new blog when we moved into the house. Although we have been in the house about three weeks we will not feel it is ours, of course, until all the paperwork is complete.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">However, I hope to be able then to share and tell you lots of things about our new life, and in time for my preparations for Christmas which I am so excited about this year, not much change there really!</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So I hope you will hang in there and keep an eye out for my new blog posts. </span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Take care. xxx </span></span></i></span><br />
<br />

<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I am really missing not being able to bake properly. </span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The caravan oven is just about able to cope with our family meals, as long as I start everything an extra 30 minutes early! </span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now the house kitchen is out of commision completely until we move in I cannot even pop anything in there.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Never mind, I will have a right old time of it getting used to and using the Rayburn very soon!</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />

<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I have been absent from my posts for a couple of weeks but unfortunatley not for the right reasons so settle in for a few minutes!</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">We moved ourselves to Wales on September 5 under the impresion that exchange would take place within a couple of days.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">This has not happened, yet!</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Our vendors had agreed to us camping out on the land at the back of the house until the exchange and they are still more than happy for us to be here doing that. They are the most lovely and understanding people.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">We have had issues with that I will not go into but, although I have lost count of the number of times we have said this, we hope today that after a change of solicitor we will have some news.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">We have not started work on the house, we have been in the caravan for just over two weeks and are full of anxiety, worry, stress and any other word you think fit. However, we are also very angry because we have done everything we have been asked to do by Estate Agents, buyers, vendors (although everything is good to go on our purchase) but we are still in a bit of a mess.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I truly hope when we speak to hub's dad tonight that he has some news. We only had our Broadband and landline connected last Wednesday and we have no mobile reception from the house for about 2 miles so communication has been very difficult at times therefore he is helping out with the whole thing.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">All this aside, the village is wonderful, we have met some very friendly people, the boys are in classes at a local Learning Centre and coming on in leaps and bounds with their Welsh after only a week there. They leave home at 7.45am and are home at 4pm.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">We marvel at the scenery and, even after heavy rain over the last couple of days, it is a glorious place and we are never leaving!</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I have today gone for a little chat at a local cafe in Tregaron and hope to start a job there maybe next week. Very strange trying to get into work after so long but it is something I am familiar with due to our business we owned when first married. </span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Well, this is not the first post I had hoped to write after we moved here and feel really quite sad about that. However I have a new blog all lined up, just tweaking it a bit and trying to remember how to put some of the same things I managed to do on this one!</span></span></i></span><br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></i></span>
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Wish us luck for the next couple of days. I had so hoped to celebrate my birthday in the house but that is not going to be as I thought either.</span></span></i></span><br />

<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Will be in touch soon in a more positive mood I very much hope.xx</span></span></i></span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">A little setback with some legal requirements but hopefully it won't drag us into too much trouble. Means we cannot exchange contracts today, but whatever the issues the boys WILL be in school on Monday. It may mean we don't get everythihg to Wales until Saturday but we will manage - I keep telling myself that. </span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The packing has gone really well and everything is downstairs now but we are at that point where I am washing things to pack, I have to pack some things into the caravan for when we get there and I just HATE the idea of having random things in random boxes. </span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I am a little OCD so it can be tricky for me at times but I just have to breath and know that all that matters is getting everything, and us, to the other end. Once the boys are in school on Monday I can spend the day getting properly organised so we have food, bedding/beds and the necessities where they should be for the time being.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Wish us luck, again.x </span></span></i></span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">V. quick post just to update. </span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We have been very fortunate in that a family member has offered us a two-birth caravan plus awning for sale and we have taken it. This means we can stay on site at the new house whilst hubs does the work, the boys can go to school on the bus and everything is much better. Making use of the outbuldings I can still use my usual frdige/freezer, slow cooker for when the nights start getting to casserole-time and the washing machine will be plumbed in down in the cellar.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Feeling much better about getting organised when we get there which was always going to be a bit stressful for me. Aaah.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Not sure how much I will be blogging in the next couple of days as we are planning on moving on Friday! Also not sure how long it will take to get the Broadband connected so may be a little while before I am able to post some photos of the new homestead after the move..</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Wish us luck on our exciting new venture.xxx </span></span></i></span>Louise Houghtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13074355125344865358noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7646214717247310156.post-87551764465058531262015-08-31T10:58:00.002+01:002015-08-31T17:49:40.813+01:00There's That C-word again.<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">You may remember back in June I posted about <a href="http://athomewithmrsh.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/christmas-savings-plan-sorry-if-too.html">Christmas Savings Plan. </a>This is just a little reminder and an update. </span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now and again I have thought to myself "shall I tell hubby and use it for this, that or the other?" But then I think to myself that I have managed this far, which is three months, without too much trouble and it will be fab when it comes to November when I can tell hubs I have saved £1001! </span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So far I have saved a bit over £400 and I love seeing the amount increase each week. I have started a list of things I intend to buy starting with 6 bottles of bubbly! But I'm also leaving plenty for us to use on special things for us and the boys over the festivities and the New Year. </span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Do any of you have a savings plan? </span></i></span>Louise Houghtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13074355125344865358noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7646214717247310156.post-12177072997474433422015-08-29T08:46:00.002+01:002015-08-29T08:47:47.279+01:00Progress, of sorts.<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Good morning.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We have come to a necessary decision because of the boys as we don't expect contracts to be signed until middle/towards the end of next week because of the Bank Holiday so this is how things will be.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As soon as they are signed we will pack up the last of our things, we have done so much already, and make the move to the new house. But we have also made the decision to rent on a holiday park very close to the house and school so the boys can start on September 7. We cannot have them in limbo any longer so this is the best thing for us all. It also means the work on the house can start whilst we are not in it and the boys, most importantly, can get into some sort of a routine. There are so many new things they need to be getting involved with and we don't want them missing any more than absolutely necessary. We are the kind of parents who don't even take them out of school for dental appointements, let alone family holidays, so this is something we feel very stongly about and we a lot happier now we have come to this point.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The next few days will involve more waiting, hubs has stayed on at work for a little longer and I can get some more things packed and boxed up, like hubs clothes as he is going to be living in his work clothes for the foreseeable and I have a fantastic flying suit overall that will be my 'uniform' when helping around the house and nothing flash if running between school etc. It is a shame the boys won't be able to take the bus to school for a little while yet as that is something they were really looking forward to.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">On we go. </span></span></i></span>Louise Houghtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13074355125344865358noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7646214717247310156.post-55863290303557308692015-08-28T09:28:00.002+01:002015-08-28T09:29:30.819+01:00Autumn Will Soon Be Upon Us<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have to say that normally I am getting in the mood for decorating the house for Autumn.</span></span></i></span><span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> These are examples of last year's decs. In the first the book I am using is a copy of Pretty Nostalgic to which I used to subscribe. I still love to use the books for seasonal decorations and inspiration so take a look at my other posts if you get five minutes.</span></span></i></span></span></span></i></span><br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span></span></i></span> </span></span></i></span><br />

<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The book in the picture above is an old copy of A Diary Of An Edwardian Lady which I found in a charity shop for £1. It is great for paper crafting and, again, as a decoration as the illustrations are wonderful.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">However, because of life being as it is just now I am not even thinking about it but I have to say the onset of Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year. I love the changing of the leaf colours, the crunch when you kick though them and that I will soon be able to cosy myself in my lovely wrap I keep downstairs when the evening start to get a little chilly. </span></span></i></span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Feeling a little out of sorts at the moment if that is the right description for it.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The contracts for the house move yesterday so me, the boys on their bikes and Jake set off for the Post Office after breakfast. We went to send the documents back to the solicitor, guaranteed next day delivery, because of the Bank Holiday. We wait for the next stage and are twiddling our thumbs somewhat.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We have a huge amount of the house packed up ready to go so are wating for contracts to be exchanged then hubby will be all systems go down to Wales. I have nothing to keep me occupied really regarding to sale or purchase, no paperwork just now, no point in cleaning anywhere to a great degree as things will be going soon. I have today been baking to use up a few things out of the cupboard to pass the time, so we now have a tin of cherry and oat flapjack and a delish yoghurt and poppy seed, lemon flavoured loaf cake, one of my favourites!</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlaHtgjzaLDvx-ImmcRWaZ9t104Sf9L-UONugI2x6ZI8mP8I4_RhTxiBaHuQCQ2zMmH-mJupiJCxLGKx0x-PH1tZ8VelJGADtPH72SpJ674I3_xnwlB82zpNaYOmyOd0CYtAR2FqP6ZKOF/s1600/Yog+cake+23+May+2012+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlaHtgjzaLDvx-ImmcRWaZ9t104Sf9L-UONugI2x6ZI8mP8I4_RhTxiBaHuQCQ2zMmH-mJupiJCxLGKx0x-PH1tZ8VelJGADtPH72SpJ674I3_xnwlB82zpNaYOmyOd0CYtAR2FqP6ZKOF/s320/Yog+cake+23+May+2012+001.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></span></i></span></div>
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">In the last couple of days I have spoken to the boys' school, their teacher actually and got myself a little straighter regarding uniform etc so I'm now waiting for the school outfitter to call saying sweatshirts and polo shirts are ready and how much it will be for her to post them to me here so we are organised for the first day, whenever that will be.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have informed the school here that they will not be returning for the Autumn term and have arranged for them </span></span></i></span><span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">to visit their class friends on the day they should have returned.</span></span></i></span> It will give me a chance to have a quick word of thanks to the teachers, too.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">That is about it for now but we hope to hear something tomorrow regarding the next part of the process, failing that it will be on Tuesday due to the darn tootin' Bank Holiday, harumph!</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Will be in touch. </span></span></i></span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><i>We have bought them a pair of walkie talkies (hence the title of today's post) with a 3 kilometre range ready for when we move because the field we have also bought is about 10 minutes walk from the house. We are so very happy they will be able to just wander off together with the dog as there is zero traffic past the field, but we will just know where they are. Also, when hubby is fettling in the shed or cellar I will be able to call him for lunch or a brew!</i></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><i>Also, we recieved an email from our super solicitor late this afternoon saying she has today put in the post the contract from our buyers solicitor.Very exciting and even better if the buyers have already signed it, which I think they might have done but not sure. At least we only have to wait until tomorrow to find out.</i></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><i>I have managed to make contact with the boys' school today, too. I have now been able to order some of their uniforms and got a few things straight in my head ready for the first day.</i></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><i>Things really seem to be coming together now so will keep you posted regarding the moving date when I hear.</i></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><i>I have been thinking about my new blog that I plan on writing when we move. Have been working on a name and what I plan to use it for.</i></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><i>That's all for now.x </i></span></span></span>Louise Houghtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13074355125344865358noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7646214717247310156.post-70510460175566943332015-08-17T10:21:00.004+01:002015-08-17T10:21:58.498+01:00Some positive news!<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hi!</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Just a quick post to say we have been in touch with the Estate Agent this morning.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">After spending the weekend being conpletely paranoid as we did not get a call about the house, <u>and</u> thinking our buyers were going to pull out after the survey - knew there was nothing wrong with it - we are now assured that all is progressing as it should. Pheweee!</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The survey apparently was very good, for a house built in the 1870's!</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Our moving date will probably be about September 4 which is a shame because the boys will miss the start of school, but only two days and I think I can manage with that.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The relief is immense I have to say.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Contracts should be signed close to 24th as our buyers have a week away booked then it is Bank Holiday.</span></span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">And so the packing continues by one very much happier bunny. </span></span></i></span>Louise Houghtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13074355125344865358noreply@blogger.com3
