Going Nowhere Fast!

Well what more can I say than that?

The last potential buyers cannot move forward with an offer on our house and so we have said, and rightly so, our understanding vendors must put their house back on the market.

I am trying not to let disappointment completely overwhelm me because we have a lot of positive things about our situation which we need to bear in mind.

  • We do not have a mortgage on our current house.

  • The boys will be able to finish the school year with their friends.

  • There are still over eight weeks until the new school year starts and, in that time, it is more than possible to find a new buyer.

Nothing more to say than that really.xx

Here we go again, maybe?

We have stalled in our attempt to sell the house. We are still waiting to see if the two-time viewers are in a position, or inclined, to make an offer. As I said in my last post, it is a waiting game, always!

Anyhow, before the boys were up from their pits this morning I made sausage rolls. Don't you just love ready-made, ready-rolled puff pastry? Harry had requested them so I could put them in their lunch boxes as he likes to have pate on toast for breakfast and I try not to give the boys bread at more than one meal a day.

So here are the finished articles, looking quite tasty I think?

At the same time, well I put it in a little earlier, as baking the sausage rolls I popped a whole butternut squash in so I was making the best of the oven. When properly baked and nice and soft I scooped out the flesh am now in the process of making one of my yummy snacks for when I am watching my weight - when am I not? Here you see other ingredients; lemon, olive oil, lentils and garlic paste. You simply add the boiled lentils, juice from half a lemon, a teaspoon of the oil, a sqirt of the garlic and just combine. Absolutely tasty with a savoury biscuit and if you are on Weight Watchers Filling and Healthy plan you don't have to count any of it!

I haven't posted any of my makes and bakes for a while so thought I would this morning, whilst everything looks nice and fresh or has at least lasted until lunch time. To be honest I can't guarantee the sausage rolls will make it beyond tomorrow's lunch boxes!

Hope you have enjoyed my ramblings.xxx

New buyer!

Things don't always go smoothly, do they?

Moving house is on the list of very stressful things you can do in your life and we are experiencing a little of that now.

In the last 10 days or so we have lost our buyer but hopefully have found another!

Due to circumstances beyond our control our buyer's buyer pulled out which in turn meant ours had to also, but we have had another couple view the house twice, are returning again on Thursday and we hope to have some sort of news by the weekend.

Our vendors are being so very kind and not putting their house back on the market yet, even though we are the only people to have viewed it since it was advertised, and they would be well within their rights to do so!

Again, it is a waiting game but really hope we have a positive outcome.

This has all occured since we visited schools for the boys in Wales on June 19. We have decided that, worse case scenario, if we lose the house in Wales we still want to move to the same area and will look for another house there. But let us hope and pray to something or someone that all is well very soon.

News to follow?! xx

A quick post at breakfast

Morning!

I've taken the dog out and am now having my porridge whilst looking across the kitchen at some of the surfaces currently covered with items from my cupboards. Before school I decided that today I would pack away crockery we certainly won't use before we move. This includes things like platters used at parties/big meals, the bamboo steamer (which I have never used so it may end up in the next charity shop bag!), the pull-down juicer and some wooden salad bowls. I have newspapers at the ready and plan to have these things packed today so that is two cupboards done and ticked off the list!

I am working my way through the book I bought called Stuffocation, if you remember? I have read some very interesting things such as how fires are on the increase in some places due to people properly hoarding unnecessary stuff. Also how people make life changing decisions about how to live their life because they realise they are just drowning in things that do not help to enhance their lives at all. I remember a few years ago how myself and hubs used to truly believe that it was great to have two of everything but three was better! Oh how times and opinions change - and for the better to my way of thinking.

I had a complete light bulb moment when I read about a woman selling her wedding dress. I considered we have fab pictures of that day, of that experience, people still remember the wonderful meze we had for our meal in the evening as we were married in Cyprus. This is just a great example of living experientially, along with not needing to drag it to the next house only to remain under a bed and unlooked at for another few years. I have no daughter to pass it on to, I have never considered having it dyed to wear as a ball gown so I am taking it to a wedding shop to have it looked at. If I really cannot manage to sell it then I will give it away so maybe somebody else can use it to have a wonderful experience in their life, too?

Must dash, one more coffee and then I'll get on. xx

PS. Survery done on this house so all systems go by the end of the week regarding, hopefully, exchange dates. Eeek!

Quick up date!

Hi and good morning!

Today I am hoping to get the survey on our house booked as our buyer has got hers done and dusted! With any luck by the end of the week our report will be in and we can crack on with the survey on the Wales house. Eeek!

Also, today is the first week of my Christmas savings plan. I opened my savings account, slight issue when I decided to do a few internet transfers the other day, planning on doing the whole lot until November, but think I'm back on track now. Not telling hubs about my little plan so that will be a fab surprise ready for the festivities.

Must dash as the boys are back to school today and a tonne of things to do as usual, but glad to be getting back to my usual routine probably starting with a quick shop at Aldi.

Catch ya later! xx

Christmas Savings Plan - sorry if too early for the C word.

Morning!

This is a quick post just to let you know about something I'm beginning on June 1. I am a fan of Pinterest as you surely will know and recently I came across this.

christmas savings plan

As you can see this is an American Pin but you can use the tool anywhere in the world, of course. Also, mine starts as I said on June 1 so it ends on November 23 and is not linked to our version of Black Friday, just having a good time!

I think if you work this into your festive season planning you won't really miss the money; if you think about not spending so much on your food bills and cutting down on a few luxuries you can have a fantastic time with your family at Christmas without too much effort.

I am considering setting up an online savings account with my bank because it would be much easier than physically taking the money out of the bank. However, I love, love, love the idea of having a pot of money growing each week!

So, is anybody else up for the challenge? Let me know if this is something you think would work for you.

Progressing with the move, a little.

Image result for school books england

Guess what I've been doing this week? Yes, looking into schooling for our two little men before we move to what, frankly, IS our dream home!

I have had great help and advice from Ceredigion Council and a lovely lady in one of the school offices so will be despatching my request form to the Council this week, hopefully. Hubs and I will need to go and visit the schools but may not be able to take the boys as we are all out of holidays until Summer.

Schools are small compared to where we are now but some have been combined to create middle schools where the ages range from 3 to 16.  In some of the smaller schools the boys would be in the same class as they are currently in consecutive years, 2 and 3.

All the schools in the immediate area are described as Welsh Medium and the aim is for the children to be bilingual by the time they leave secondary school. I myself, will be attending Welsh lessons, in fact the lovely lady from the school office said they were probably running them at the local pub; I wonder what "Get In" is in Welsh?!

The boys are very excited and as we looked at one school website all they could ask was "do we get a book bag?". Bless!

I will let you know how we get on!xx
