Inspiration for us stay at home-ers!

 Hello

I have today discovered a fantastic blog called Down To Earth.

I came across it and thought how wonderful it was to find somebody celebrating and enjoying a more simple life, homemaking etc and not being ashamed of it. I have commented on a couple of the posts and hope you will visit it some time as I feel sure you will find it inspirational and encouraging.

Yesterday I really got some use out of the Rayburn. I worked out the timings and managed to bake two loaves of bread, a proper baked rice pudding, baked potatoes and chicken kievs for the boys' and our tea. Really proud of myself because I wanted it all ready so the boys could have the bread warm when they came home and everything would be done for tea time.

What do you reckon to my loaves? Yummy with just butter or for breakfast with baked beans was lovely, too.

And I've just taken scones out of the oven ready for the boys getting home shortly.

Right, must dash as they will be home any second.

Bye for now.x

  3. your home baked goodies look gorgeous. lucky family. Never seen the DTE blog, so shall have to take a look. I'm a homemaker and proud, though I often get "people" asking 'what do you do all day'. Pah. I think that says more about them than me if they feel the need to ask!
    :O) x

  4. Very good scones and bread. Rayburns/Agas take some getting used to.

Down to Earth is a lovely blog but I have to say I am a bit of a housework rebel and not as organized about housework as Rhonda! I'm with her all the way on her attitude to crafting of an afternoon though : )

I have always been a stay-at-home-mum (mine all flown the nest now) and been asked what I do all day long - this when I also had three horses and a bedbound mother to care for too . . .

  5. I stopped working at our own business when 6 months gone with my eldest. Only just went back to work with the cafe recently but I do so prefer being at home. I am a bit organised with cleaning as I prefer to do about an hour each day then I can do other stuff. I have been know to put the timer on whilst crafting so I don't forget I have put soap on the bath soaking. (I use the old fashioned green household soap for lots of things as is sooo useful.) Luckily now I am surrounded by retired people and don't tend to asked what I do all day! (Sorry if I have asked you before but where are you in relation to me?)x
